Privacy Policy

Effective September 19, 2026

My Daily Dollar helps you see what you can safely spend each day. To do that, it needs the budget you give it — and nothing else. This page explains what that means in plain language.

The short version

Who we are

My Daily Dollar is operated by Joseph Ingram. If you have a question about this policy or your data, email support@dailydollar-app.com.

What we collect

Your account. Your name and email address, so you can sign in and so your budget can be saved to your account. You also choose a password, but that is handled entirely by our sign-in provider (Google Firebase Authentication) — we never see it or store it.

The budget you enter. Everything the app works from is information you type in yourself:

What we don't collect. We don't access your bank accounts, location, contacts, photos, or advertising identifier. The app contains no analytics, no crash reporting, and no advertising, and it doesn't track you across other apps or websites.

How we use it

Only to run the app: to calculate your daily number, show your history and progress, keep your budget in sync across your devices, and keep your account secure. We don't use your information for advertising, and we don't sell it or share it for anyone else's marketing.

Where it's stored

Your budget is stored in your account on Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore), a service provider that stores it on our behalf. Information travels between the app and Firebase encrypted, and our database rules allow each account to read and change only its own data.

A copy of your budget is also kept on your phone, so the app and its home screen and lock screen widgets work quickly and offline.

Sharing a budget with a partner

Many households share one My Daily Dollar login so both people see the same budget. Anyone you give your email and password to can see and change everything in that budget, and can delete the account. Only share your login with people you trust with that.

Who else sees it

We don't sell or rent your personal information. It's handled only by the service providers the app needs to work:

We may disclose information if the law requires it, such as in response to a valid legal request.

Notifications

Reminders, like the optional 8pm reminder to log your spending, are scheduled on your phone. They aren't sent from our servers, and we don't collect notification data. You can turn them off in the app or in your iPhone's Settings.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your information for as long as your account exists.

You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Profile → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account, your budget, your expenses, and your history from our servers and from your phone. It can't be undone. If you share your login with a partner, it's deleted for them too.

Deleting the app from your phone doesn't delete your account — use Delete account for that, or email us and we'll do it for you.

Your choices

You can view and edit everything you've entered directly in the app, and delete it at any time. You can also email us to ask for a copy of your data, or to have it corrected or deleted. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights under local law; contact us and we'll help.

Children

My Daily Dollar isn't intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the effective date above. If a change is significant — for example, if we add a feature that connects to your bank — we'll let you know in the app before it affects you.
